Agosto de 1991. El cineasta Jacinto Molina, más conocido como Paul Naschy, está sufriendo un infarto. Mientras es llevado a quirófano, todos sus recuerdos pasan por su mente como una película. Le vienen a la cabeza buenos y malos momentos, y una película en la que volcó sus filias y sus fobias, El aullido del diablo. Y todos los recuerdos de su niñez que le dejaron impronta en su cine, un claro símbolo de autoría.

August 1991. Filmmaker Jacinto Molina, better known as Paul Naschy, is suffering a heart attack. While being rushed to surgery, all his memories flash through his mind like a movie. He recalls both good and bad moments, as well as a film where he poured his passions and fears: The Howl of the Devil. Memories from his childhood, which left a strong mark on his films and became a clear symbol of his authorship, also surface.

En la nave del encanto es una road movie, de índole tanto física como espiritual, incluso pirata, en la que Pedro Alonso y su equipo se embarcan en un viaje a través de vías meditativas, acercándose al mundo del chamanismo. Dibujando un ocho por los márgenes de la geografía mexicana, la travesía les llevará al encuentro de maestros medicina tradicionales con los que compartir una particular mirada sobre la vida de naturaleza panteísta, pero también sus protocolos de sanación y sus rituales de visión, en los que participan durante el rodaje.

Un viaje que trata de mostrar un camino de crecimiento y de riqueza que, más allá de prejuicios occidentales, ha acompañado con su mirada mitológica al hombre de todas las culturas desde la noche de los tiempos.

En la nave del encanto is a road movie —both a physical and spiritual journey, even a pirate adventure— in which Pedro Alonso and his team embark on a voyage through meditative paths, exploring the world of shamanism. Tracing a figure-eight along the edges of Mexican geography, the journey brings them to traditional medicine masters, with whom they share a unique, pantheistic perspective on life, as well as their healing protocols and vision rituals, in which they participate during filming.

This is a journey meant to reveal a path of growth and richness that, beyond Western prejudices, has accompanied humanity with its mythological vision across all cultures since the dawn of time.

En los años 70, Agustín Gómez Arcos llegó a lo más alto de la literatura francesa mientras que en su país, España, su nombre permanecía oculto. Nacido en Enix, Almería, destacó como dramaturgo en el Madrid de los años 50, pero la modernidad y libertad de su obra lo llevaron a ser censurado en numerosas ocasiones hasta empujarlo al exilio. En Francia se convirtió en uno de los autores más leídos por el público y reconocidos por la crítica. Sus novelas se tradujeron a más de doce idiomas y formaron parte de los planes educativos de los liceos franceses, siendo finalista al premio Goncourt en seis ocasiones. Gómez Arcos eligió la lengua francesa para no callar y mantener viva la memoria de los vencidos por el régimen franquista. Su éxito, sus intervenciones públicas y sus ideas muestran a un hombre avanzado que se adelantó a temas como la memoria democrática, el feminismo o la identidad de género y sexual. Tras décadas de olvido, en el año 2006, la editorial Cabaret Voltaire empezó a traducir y publicar sus novelas por primera vez en nuestro país. Hoy, reivindicado por los lectores más jóvenes, la recuperación de su figura se revela como una de las tareas pendientes de nuestra cultura. Un hombre libre reflexiona sobre la historia reciente de nuestro país a través de los silencios, de los relatos perdidos y del papel de la cultura y la memoria.

In the 1970s, Agustín Gómez Arcos reached the pinnacle of French literature while his name remained obscure in his homeland, Spain. Born in Enix, Almería, he stood out as a playwright in Madrid during the 1950s, but the modernity and freedom of his work led to frequent censorship, ultimately driving him into exile. In France, he became one of the most widely read authors among the public and one of the most recognized by critics. His novels were translated into over twelve languages and became part of the educational curriculum in French high schools, and he was a finalist for the Goncourt Prize six times. Gómez Arcos chose the French language to ensure that his voice was not silenced and to keep alive the memory of those defeated by the Franco regime. His success, public interventions, and ideas reveal a forward-thinking man who anticipated themes such as democratic memory, feminism, and gender and sexual identity. After decades of obscurity, in 2006, the Cabaret Voltaire publishing house began to translate and publish his novels for the first time in Spain. Today, embraced by younger readers, the recovery of his figure emerges as one of the pending tasks of our culture. A free man reflects on the recent history of our country through silences, lost stories, and the role of culture and memory.
