Las fronteras entre el cine y la televisión van desapareciendo y por eso hemos querido abrir desde el año pasado este galardón a este territorio que tan a menudo escoge Almería como plató. En este sentido, en la presente edición, este premio lo recibirá una actriz que desde que debutó hace veinte años con Cabeza de perro de Santiago Amodeo, por la que consiguió una nominación al Goya, se ha convertido en un rostro habitual en cine y televisión.
Adriana Ugarte es una de las grandes estrellas de la televisión en nuestro país. Ha participado en producciones como El tiempo entre costuras, La señora, Hospital Central, Hache, Parot o Heridas, que se filmó en parte en San José y en Isleta del moro. Precisamente por su trabajo en esta serie obtuvo el premio a la mejor actriz en el Certamen de Series de FICAL 2022 y ahora recibe el galardón Almería, Tierra de Cine.
Producida por Atresmedia TV y Buendía Estudios, Heridas adaptaba la popular serie turca Madre y obtenía un gran éxito en su estreno, gracias en gran medida a su espectacular reparto, encabezado por Adriana Ugarte y María León. Este drama nos hablaba sobre el abandono infantil y la búsqueda de la identidad a través de las vivencias de sus protagonistas.
Además de estos trabajos, en cine hemos podido verla en El juego del ahorcado, Castillo de cartón, Lo contrario al amor, Tiempo sin aire, Combustión, Palmeras en la nieve, Durante la tormenta, Lobo feroz y Julieta (por la que obtuvo otra nominación a los Premios Goya, Feroz y a las medallas del Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos).
Una trayectoria imparable con un futuro aún muy prometedor para esta madrileña que se une a la lista de grandes estrellas del Paseo de la Fama almeriense.

Uno de los grandes actores de nuestro país recibe este año el Premio «Almería, Tierra de Cine». Nos referimos a Eduard Fernández, recientemente galardonado con el Premio Nacional de Cinematografía. La carrera de Eduard en los últimos veinticinco años ha estado repleta de grandes trabajos interpretativos y películas que se han convertido en esenciales en la historia del cine español contemporáneo.
Eduard Fernández estudió mimo en el Institut de Teatre de Barcelona. Comenzó actuando en un cabaret de la misma ciudad y en el teatro con la compañía Els Joglars.
Con Los lobos de Washington, dirigida por Mariano Barroso en 1999, consiguió su primera nominación al Goya en la categoría de mejor actor revelación. Desde entonces, sus papeles le han valido numerosos reconocimientos: cuatro premios Goya (mejor actor protagonista por Marco, mejor actor protagonista por Fausto 5.0, mejor actor de reparto por En la ciudad y mejor actor de reparto por encarnar a Millán Astray en Mientras dure la guerra, dirigida por Alejandro Amenábar), la Concha de Plata en el Festival de San Sebastián por El hombre de las mil caras y cuatro premios Gaudí, entre otros. En Almería, rodó con Daniel Monzón en Isleta del Moro el thriller El niño y posteriormente junto a Elena Anaya protagonizó Lejos del mar de Imanol Uribe, un arriesgado melodrama rodado en Isleta del Moro, San José y la propia capital que nos proporcionó algunas de las mejores interpretaciones de ambos intérpretes, que merecidamente han recibido este galardón como recuerdo de su paso por nuestra provincia.
En televisión ha participado en series como Anatomía de un instante de Alberto Rodríguez, por la que este año está nominado en FICAL, La casa de los espíritus, Historias para no dormir o 30 monedas, por la que obtuvo el premio a mejor actor en FICAL 2021.

A sus 81 años, este actor británico ha pasado sin duda a la historia del cine por su participación en dos de las sagas cinematográficas por excelencia. Nos referimos a Indiana Jones y El Señor de los Anillos.
Su interpretación del arqueólogo Sallah en tres de las películas de la saga protagonizada por Harrison Ford es muy recordada por los seguidores de la serie, empezando por En busca del arca perdida. Precisamente en Almería rodó Indiana Jones y la última cruzada, título fundamental en la lista de producciones que han visitado nuestra provincia, con momentos memorables en Tabernas y en la propia capital almeriense. Hace dos años estrenaba Indiana Jones y el dial del destino, donde su personaje ganaba protagonismo y cerraba magistralmente las aventuras de nuestro héroe favorito sin traicionar el espíritu de Spielberg.
Por otra parte, muchos le recordarán por su interpretación del enano Gimli en la trilogía de El Señor de los Anillos de Peter Jackson, así como la voz de Bárbol en la misma película. Su personalidad ruda fue deliberadamente exagerada, creando momentos de comicidad que sirven para descargar de drama la trama principal de la historia. Precisamente esta interpretación le sirvió para ganar el premio al mejor actor de reparto del sindicato de actores por El retorno del rey, tras haber sido nominado por las dos anteriores películas de la saga.
Otros títulos de su larga filmografía son Las minas del rey Salomón, Princesa por sorpresa, Aventuras en el Sahara, Regreso al mundo perdido, 007 Alta tensión, Víctor o Victoria o, en los ochenta, la primera versión de la serie Shogun.
