En esta sección de FICAL, traemos en primicia a Almería producciones cinematográficas que muy pronto llegarán a las pantallas. En la gala de inauguración, tendremos El amor de Andrea, último trabajo de nuestro paisano Manuel Martín Cuenca.
Nuestra apuesta por la infancia incluye el estreno mundial de L’home dels nassos, una obra donde se combinan imaginación y aventuras. En la jornada de clausura tendremos el preestreno de la última cinta familiar producida por Santiago Segura, La Navidad en sus manos, título destinado a convertirse en uno de los fenómenos cinematográficos de este otoño.
Pablo Berger regresa a FICAL con su largometraje de animación Robots dreams, estrenada en el Festival de Cannes y que llegará a las pantallas españolas semanas después dispuesta a hacerse un hueco en las nominaciones a los Premios Goya.
Devoción es el nuevo film de Rafael Russo, producido por Ezekiel Montes, con Elena Martínez de protagonista. Caleta Palace, de José Antonio Hergueta, profundiza en las heridas de la Guerra Civil mezclando documental y ficción.
FILM PREMIERE SCREEN
This is the section of FICAL, in which we bring premieres of film productions that will soon be hitting the screens to Almería. At the opening gala, we will be screening El amor de Andrea, the latest work by local lad Manuel Martín Cuenca.
Our commitment to children includes the world premiere of L'home dels nassos (The Nose Man), a work that combines imagination and adventure. On the closing day we will have the preview of the latest family film produced by Santiago Segura, La Navidad en sus manos (Christmas in Their Hands), a film destined to become one of this autumn's cinematic phenomena.
Pablo Berger returns to FICAL with his animated feature film Robot dreams, which premiered at the Cannes Festival, and which will reach Spanish screens in some weeks, ready to make a name for itself among the nominations for the Goya Awards.
Devotion is the new film by Rafael Russo, produced by Ezekiel Montes, starring Elena Martínez. Caleta Palace, by José Antonio Hergueta, delves into the wounds of the Civil War, mixing documentary and fiction.

Unos días antes de la Navidad, Papa Noel (Santiago Segura), tiene un accidente de trineo en pleno centro de Madrid y acaba en el hospital. Por suerte, Salva (Ernesto Sevilla), su compañero de habitación puede sustituirle en su sagrada labor navideña. Aunque es un buscavidas más acostumbrado a vender piezas de coche robadas que a repartir regalos.
Para Salva la única manera de recuperar a su familia es aceptar tan entrañable misión. La cuenta atrás para la llegada de la Nochebuena avanza inexorable y aún deberá encontrar a los renos de Papá Noel, aprender a volar en trineo y lo que es más difícil aun: aprender a ser una buena persona.
A few days before Christmas, Santa Claus (Santiago Segura), has a sleigh accident in downtown Madrid and ends up in hospital. Luckily, Salva (Ernesto Sevilla), his roommate on the ward, is able to replace him in his sacred Christmas work. Although he is a hustler more used to selling stolen car parts than delivering presents.
For Salva, the only way to get his family back is to accept this endearing mission. The countdown to Christmas Eve is relentless and he still has to find Santa's reindeer, learn to fly in a sleigh and, even more difficult: learn to be a good person.

Los acontecimientos vividos en Málaga entre julio de 1936 y febrero de 1937 conmovieron a quienes los vivieron. Este impacto dejó huella sobre todo en los extranjeros que asistieron, en todo o en parte, a los siete meses de revolución y asedio que sucedieron al golpe militar, y finalmente a la entrada del ejército italiano en la primera capital conquistada para Franco. Ocho testimonios excepcionales recuperan sus vivencias, recreadas a modo de falso documental a partir de recuerdos que rápidamente volcaron en libros, fotos y diarios personales.
The events that took place in Malaga between July 1936 and February 1937 had a profound impact on those who lived through them. This impact left its mark above all on foreigners who witnessed, in whole or in part, the seven months of revolution and siege that followed the military coup, and finally the entry of the Italian army into the first capital conquered by Franco. Eight exceptional witnesses recount their experiences, recreated in the form of a pseudo-documentary based on memories that were quickly recorded in books, photos and personal diaries.
