En esta sección de FICAL traemos en primicia a Almería producciones cinematográficas que muy pronto llegarán a las pantallas. En la gala de inauguración, tendremos el estreno europeo de Los papeles de Arturo Montenegro, protagonizada por Megan Montaner y Carlos Bardem, basada en los famosos «papeles de Panamá».
La boda es el debut de Pedro Cenjor, con Elena Furiase, Daniel Chamorro y María Jesús Hoyos, que se estrenará en España en FICAL.
Macarena García regresa al festival con un largometraje producido por ella: Polar de Alberto Palma, obra de cine negro rodada en Sevilla con Rubén Cortada y Pedro Casablanch como protagonistas. Con sello almeriense tendremos Calcinación de Luis Navarrete. Nebulosa Alhambra de Nacho Chueca es la prolongación en formato largometraje de ficción de su serie Territorio gravedad.
Otro de los grandes acontecimientos de FICAL 2025 es el estreno de la comedia Coartadas, producción de Atresmedia dirigida por el prolífico Martín Cuervo y protagonizada por Jaime Lorente y Leo Harlem, de la que se espera un buen resultado en taquilla.
También podemos destacar el estreno en Andalucía de La memoria de las mariposas, ópera prima de Marta Viña, drama centrado en la relación entre una madre y su hija adoptada.
Dentro de nuestra apuesta por la infancia, está el preestreno de dos obras de animación muy esperadas: la francesa Little Amélie y la española Olivia y el terremoto invisible, ambas destinadas a estar entre los fenómenos cinematográficos de este otoño.
FILM PREMIERES
In this section of FICAL we bring a preview of film productions that will soon be hitting the big screen to Almería. At the opening gala, we will have the European premiere of Los papeles de Arturo Montenegro, starring Megan Montaner and Carlos Bardem, based on the famous 'Panama Papers'.
La boda is Pedro Cenjor’s debut film, starring Elena Furiase, Daniel Chamorro and María Jesús Hoyos, which will premiere in Spain at FICAL.
Macarena García returns to the festival with a feature film she produced: Polar by Alberto Palma, a film noir shot in Seville starring Rubén Cortada and Pedro Casablanch. With the Almeria hallmark, we will have Calcinación by Luis Navarrete. Nebulosa Alhambra by Nacho Chueca is the feature-length fiction follow-up to his series Territorio gravedad.
Another of the major events at FICAL 2025 is the premiere of the comedy Coartadas, an Atresmedia production directed by the prolific Martín Cuervo and starring Jaime Lorente and Leo Harlem, which is expected to do well at the box office.
The Andalusian premiere of La memoria de las mariposas (The Memory of Butterflies), Marta Viña’s debut feature film, a drama focusing on the relationship between a mother and her adopted daughter, is also worth a mention.
As part of our commitment to children, we are previewing two highly awaited animated films: the French Little Amélie and the Spanish Olivia y el terremoto invisible, both of which are set to be among this autumn’s cinematographic phenomena.

María, a woman who was adopted and had a difficult childhood, learns to process her experiences and the reality of being adopted through the eyes of Anne, her own adoptive daughter. Anne is now going through the same process of integration into a family that also includes Manel (the father) and Gala (their biological daughter). Their intertwined life journeys, marked by the four seasons of the year, become a healing reflection on the essence of humanity, life, death, and the passage of time.
