Separados por el río, los niños intentan comunicarse entre sí, pero entre ellos se encuentran los restos explosivos de guerras pasadas.

A girl is playing on the green slopes of a valley in Kurdistan, on the border between Iran and Iraq, when her kite is suddenly swept across the river by the wind. Three boys on the other side see her calling for help, but cannot make out what she is saying: she is just too far away. Separated by the river, the children try to communicate with each other – yet between them lie the explosive remnants of past wars.

La biblioteca lleva ya media hora cerrada y Rosario, la bibliotecaria, está poniendo los últimos libros en las estanterías y borrando el subrayado que Armando, camarero de la cafetería de la universidad, ha garabateado en varias novelas. Es decir, hasta que descubre que no son simples subrayados y que en realidad no han sido escritos por Armando. La vida de una joven corre peligro y ahora la de Rosario también. Cuando mira hacia arriba, encuentra a Armando parado frente a ella.

The library has been closed for half an hour already and Rosario, the librarian, is setting the last few books on the shelfs and erasing the underlining that Armando, a waiter at the university’s café, has scribbled in several novels. That is, until she discovers that they are not simple underlines and that they haven’t in fact been written by Armando. The life of a young woman is in danger and now Rosario's is too. When she looks up, she finds Armando standing in front of her.

El padre se da cuenta y hace una concesión. Al día siguiente, Diego regresa al bosque a buscar la silla. Pero al llegar al lugar se lleva una sorpresa. Algo ha cambiado. Las cosas no volverán a ser como antes.

Diego lives with his father in a house without anything in it, no furniture or anything like it. Every night he and his father sit on the floor to share a humble dinner. One day he boy finds a chair in the forest and decides to take it home. However, the father did not agree to take something that isn’t his and orders him to return it. Diego returns to the forest and leaves the chair in its place. At night, the house feels particularly empty. Diego looks in the corners and the absence of the chair begins to become strangely noticeable. His father notices and makes a concession. The next day, Diego returns to the forest to find the chair. But when he arrives at the place, he is surprised. Something has changed. Things will never be the same as before.

In a silent film how can one make the spectator see the sound? A vivid and noisy assemblage of archival and contemporary imagery meditating on the past and present of film audio.
