En FICAL nos unimos a la Academia del Cine de Andalucía para conmemorar el 30 aniversario de la muerte de Manuel Summers con una proyección especial en el marco del festival, coordinada por el periodista Miguel Olid.
En concreto, el jueves 23 de noviembre se proyectará el capítulo Pistón City, de la serie «Cine por un tubo», en el que el director sevillano parodiaba el wéstern en una producción en la que repasaba los distintos géneros cinematográficos. Una joven Ana Duato protagonizó este episodio, del que también hemos recuperado la presentación a cargo de José Luis Borau.
FICAL, together with the Andalusian Film Academy, is commemorating the 30th anniversary of the death of Manuel Summers with a special screening as part of the festival, coordinated by journalist Miguel Olid.
Specifically, on Thursday 23 November, the episode Pistón City, from the series "Cine por un tubo", in which the Sevillian director parodied Westerns in a production reviewing the different film genres, will be screened. A young Ana Duato starred in this episode, from which we have also recovered the presentation by José Luis Borau.

Unos forajidos secuestran a una joven la noche de su boda, incendian la casa y dejan muy malherido a su marido, que jura vengarse de ellos. Éste consigue recuperarse y a lo largo de nueve años se prepara para acabar con ellos. Regresa a Piston city, donde le toman por un forastero porque lleva un antifaz con el que tapa parte de las quemaduras de la cara. En el “saloon” descubre que una de las camareras es su mujer, que tampoco le reconoce. Se entera por ella que el líder de los forajidos es ahora un poderoso empresario pero él no tiene miedo y sigue dispuesto a saldar una deuda de sangre.
Some outlaws kidnap a young woman on her wedding night, set fire to the house and leave her husband badly wounded, who swears to take revenge on them. He manages to recover and over the course of nine years he prepares to do away with them. He returns to Piston City, where he is taken for an outsider because of the mask he wears to cover some of the burns on his face. At the saloon, he discovers that one of the waitresses is his wife, who doesn't recognise him either. He learns from her that the leader of the outlaws is now a powerful businessman, but he is not afraid and is still willing to settle a blood debt.
