En nuestro propósito de seguir descubriendo nuevos talentos internacionales, este año —gracias una vez más a la colaboración de la Filmoteca de Andalucía— tendremos la oportunidad de disfrutar de dos películas muy diferentes entre sí.
Hija del volcán, escrita y dirigida por Jenifer de la Rosa, se estrenó en la SEMINCI, donde obtuvo el Premio del Público Joven, y posteriormente en el Festival Rizoma de Madrid. La película narra la historia de una de las cientos de niñas y niños que fueron separados de sus familias tras la Tragedia de Armero, ocurrida en Colombia hace cuarenta años, y cuyo paradero aún se desconoce.
Protagonizada por el actor almeriense Rodrigo Batlles, F+AGNES es un thriller belga que se aleja de los convencionalismos del género. Rodrigo interpreta a Carlos, un emigrante español en Bélgica que, junto a su familia, se encarga de cuidar una finca durante el duro invierno en la región de Les Hautes Fagnes. Durante ese tiempo deberá enfrentarse a los fantasmas del pasado…
As part of our ongoing commitment to discovering new international talent, this year —thanks once again to the collaboration of the Filmoteca de Andalucía— we are proud to present two very different films.
Hija del volcán, written and directed by Jenifer de la Rosa, premiered at SEMINCI, where it received the Youth Audience Award, and was later screened at Rizoma Festival in Madrid. The film tells the story of one of the many children separated from their families following the Armero Tragedy in Colombia forty years ago, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Starring the Almeria-born actor Rodrigo Batlles, F+AGNES is a Belgian thriller that defies the conventions of the genre. Rodrigo plays Carlos, a Spanish immigrant in Belgium who, together with his family, tends to an isolated estate during the harsh winter in the Les Hautes Fagnes region. Over the course of the season, he must confront the ghosts of his past…

A los treinta, Jenifer comienza a indagar sobre sus orígenes, consciente únicamente de que su adopción en España está relacionada con la tragedia de Armero, provocada por el volcán Nevado del Ruiz en Colombia, y de que existe la posibilidad de que su madre todavía esté viva. Con estas pistas, inicia una investigación que la lleva a su país natal, donde conoce a diferentes personas que le ayudan a descifrar su pasado. Su viaje culmina cuando, por casualidad, conoce a alguien que cambia su realidad para siempre.
At thirty, Jenifer begins to investigate her origins, knowing only that her adoption in Spain is linked to the Armero tragedy, caused by the eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano in Colombia, and that there may still be a chance her mother is alive. Following these clues, she embarks on a journey back to her homeland, where she meets different people who help her piece together her past. Her search culminates when, by chance, she meets someone who changes her reality forever.

Armand, un niño de 6 años es acusado de traspasar ciertos límites con su amigo y compañero de clase Jon. Nadie sabe exactamente lo que ha ocurrido, así que la dirección del colegio convoca a los pa- dres para discutir el tema, desencadenando un agi- tado conflicto que pondrá sobre la mesa cuestiones como la sexualidad en la infancia, la culpabilidad o la complejidad de las zonas grises que existen entre la violencia y el juego.
Armand, a 6-year-old boy, is accused of overstep- ping certain boundaries with his friend and classma- te Jon. No one knows exactly what has happened, so the school management summons the parents to discuss the issue, triggering a heated conflict that will bring to the table issues such as sexuality in childhood, guilt or the complexity of the gray areas that exist between violence and play.
