Este año se cumplen sesenta años desde el rodaje de Lawrence de Arabia en tierras almerienses. En FICAL hemos querido celebrar este aniversario con la recuperación de este largometraje, gracias al Centro Comercial Torrecárdenas y a los Cines Yelmo, como hemos hecho en otras ocasiones, con Patton o Conan, el bárbaro.
Sin lugar a duda, la historia del cine no sería la misma sin Lawrence de Arabia, una obra maestra por la que no pasa el tiempo gracias a la genialidad de David Lean. En nuestra memoria cinéfila vivirá para siempre la imagen de Peter O’Toole en las dunas del desierto bajo la inolvidable partitura de Maurice Jarre.
En nuestra provincia se rodaron algunas de las secuencias más memorables de este largometraje, como la conquista de Acaba o el ataque al tren, para el que hubieron de construirse dos kilómetros de vías férreas, simulando la ruta de Damasco a Medina en Arabia. Si tienen ocasión, vengan a disfrutar de este manjar cinematográfico en pantalla grande.
CLASSICS AT FICAL: "LAWRENCE OF ARABIA"
This year marks sixty years since Lawrence of Arabia was filmed in Almería. At FICAL we wanted to celebrate this anniversary with the revival of this feature film, thanks to the Torrecárdenas Shopping Centre and Yelmo Cinemas, as we have done on other occasions with Patton and Conan the Barbarian.
Without a doubt, the history of film would not be the same without Lawrence of Arabia, a masterpiece that has stood the test of time thanks to the genius of David Lean. The image of Peter O'Toole in the desert dunes with the unforgettable score by Maurice Jarre will live on forever in our cinematic memory.
Some of the most memorable sequences of this feature film were shot in our province, such as the conquest of Acaba or the attack on the train, for which two kilometres of railway track, simulating the route from Damascus to Medina in Arabia, had to be laid. If you have the chance, come and enjoy this cinematic treat on the big screen.

Due to his knowledge of the native Bedouin tribes, British Lieutenant T.E.
